Sephora's high-level changes in China's store target unchanged

The reporter confirmed yesterday from Sephora that Lin Guozhong, general manager of Sephora (Shanghai) Cosmetics Sales Co., Ltd. and his assistants have resigned. Lin himself also confirmed this news.

Sephora is a cosmetics retail store under the luxury goods group LVMH and has more than 520 stores in 16 countries around the world. At the beginning of last year, LVMH and Shanghai Jahwa Group officially entered the Chinese cosmetics retail market. The bridgehead is the Shanghai market.

Zhuang Ying, public relations manager of Sephora (Shanghai) Cosmetics Sales Co., Ltd., said that Lin Guozhong’s resignation was due to personal reasons and confirmed that Sephora had made some adjustments to the internal management structure. Zhou Jisi, the president of Asia Pacific, has been based in Shanghai. And has fully taken over the work of Lin.

Zhuang Ying further stated that after Lin Guozhong leaves office, no one will succeed the post of general manager.

Zhuang Ying emphasized that changes in the internal organizational structure do not affect Sephora's China strategy and Sephora will continue to open as many stores as possible in China. Zhuang Ying stated that after starting from Shanghai and gaining a firm foothold, Sephora will enter Beijing, Hangzhou and other cities from the beginning of this year for nationwide expansion.

According to Sephora's previous plan, it will complete the layout of 100 stores in China by 2010. In the next five years, Sephora will invest 400 million yuan to expand the Chinese market. Lin Guozhong himself said that leaving Sephora hopes to focus on personal business. Lin is the manager of Simple Life in Xintiandi. Lin Guozhong served this post for about a year and participated in the creation of Sephora in China.
